Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A personal string-bound photograph album containing an assortment of black and white and sepia-toned snapshots dating between 1945 and 1956. The album serves as a record of a British family’s domestic life and travels. Locations featured prominently include Low Dale Park, Coniston Trail, and Satterthwaite in the Lake District, as well as Swanage, Dorset, and Wye. A historical snapshot is captioned Queen Elizabeth + the Duke of Edinburgh Malta 1954. Travel is further documented with images of Patricia aboard Caledonia from 1955 and Julian at Mt Gabriel. The album contains frequent mentions of individuals named Julian, Nan, Mary, Roy, Hilda, Max, and Susan. The snapshots are mounted on heavy grey cardstock pages with neat, handwritten captions in black ink. The volume is bound in green textured cloth.

Condition report:

The green cloth binding exhibits typical shelf wear, rubbing to the extremities, and fading to the spine. Internal card pages show light toning consistent with age. While the majority of photographs remain securely mounted, some items are loose. The prints show minor surface marks and age-related silvering.
