A collection of vintage British enamel and metal club badges, primarily related to lawn bowls and civic organisations, dating from the mid to late 20th century. The assortment consists of membership and commemorative badges for various regional and local lawn bowls clubs and associations throughout the United Kingdom. Identified examples include the Warwickshire Constabulary featuring the bear and ragged staff crest, and County Bowling Associations for Kent with the white horse, Sussex with six martlets, Hampshire, Devon, Gloucestershire, Middlesex with three seaxes, and West Glamorgan. Local bowls clubs represented include Madeira B.C. Exmouth, Totland B.C., Croydon, and Neath. Other organisations include the Francis Drake Fellowship, Century B. & S.C., and the Southampton & District Bowling Association. One novelty item is included in the form of a small silver-toned pin shaped like a pair of scissors. The badges are manufactured from gilt and silver-toned base metals with multi-coloured hard and soft enamel. The reverse of the badges shows various types of fastenings, including standard brooch pins, safety catches, and buttonhole studs.
