Lot 266: A Carved and Etched Emu Egg Signed Warrie Daniel
A natural emu eggshell intricately carved using a layered etching technique to produce a three-dimensional tonal effect. The decoration depicts a naturalistic scene of an adult emu and two chicks. The carving utilizes the different layers of the eggshell to reveal shades of dark teal-green, blue-grey, and white. Signed Warrie Daniel in incised script to the lower right side. The item is presented in a square brown corrugated cardboard gift box cushioned with white shredded paper and natural emu feathers.
Condition report:
The eggshell appears to be in good condition with no visible cracks, chips, or repairs. The presentation box exhibits minor shelf wear and handling marks consistent with age.
