Lot 262: A Pair of Neoclassical Style Bisque Porcelain Relief Plaques
A pair of rectangular relief plaques crafted from white bisque porcelain, set within slender gilt-finished metal frames. The subject matter depicts classically draped female figures in interactions with winged putti amidst stylized aquatic vegetation and reeds. One plaque shows a reclining figure with a putto appearing from above, while the other shows a seated figure with a putto amidst floral elements. The relief is executed with attention to the folds of the drapery and the textures of the naturalistic elements. Orange auction lot stickers numbered 262 and additional small labels are affixed to the front of each plaque. No maker’s marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the front surfaces.
Condition report:
The plaques appear to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations to the porcelain. There is minor surface dust and light wear to the gilt finish of the metal frames. Adhesive residue or labels are present on the front surfaces.
