A trio of framed works on paper comprising two watercolours and a monochrome print. The first work is a monochrome print depicting a grand building with a prominent clock tower and a long platform structure, likely a railway station; it is numbered 77/100 in pencil at the upper right, signed and dated Barry Clarke 78 in the lower margin, and bears an embossed circular stamp from Rembrandt Prints. The second piece is an architectural watercolour and ink study of a large stone-built Gothic Revival manor house with a large attached conservatory, signed and dated M. Kidd 98 at the lower right. The third piece is a rural landscape watercolour showing a mare and foal in a meadow with a building to the left bearing a sign for the Kettle Tea House; it is signed with a monogram in the lower right corner, possibly W S or W G. The works are presented in various frames including a burgundy-matted gold-coloured frame, a dark wood frame with a green-lined mount, and an ornate gilded wood frame.
Condition report:
Condition varies across the lot. There is visible foxing and brown spotting on the mount board of the M. Kidd architectural watercolour. The paper of the Barry Clarke print shows minor toning and light surface marks. The frames show general wear consistent with age, including minor surface scuffs and small losses to the gilded ornamentation on the landscape frame.
