Lot 154: British School, 20th Century, Inverted View of The Market Cross, Ulverston
A mid-20th century topographical street scene of The Market Cross, Ulverston, depicting an inverted reflection as if viewed in a rain-saturated pavement or puddle. The composition is centred on the historic monument, surrounded by characteristic black-and-white half-timbered architecture. The work is executed in a naïve style with a flattened perspective and bold blocks of colour. The medium is oil or acrylic on board, presented in a simple off-white painted wooden frame. A small paper lot or inventory sticker marked 17 17 is attached to the upper edge of the frame. No signature or date is visible on the front of the painting.

The painting is in generally good condition with some minor surface dirt and light accumulation of dust. The frame shows minor wear and light scuffing to the painted surface, consistent with age.
