A trio of decorative items comprising a dark wood cantilevered storage box and two black lacquered containers. The wooden box features two upper compartments with hinged lids, each decorated with a central carved geometric diamond motif and bordered by brass-toned metal inlays. The lids are connected to a lower base section via a metal pivoting mechanism allowing the compartments to be opened simultaneously. The two black lacquered items consist of a rectangular box and a circular lidded vessel, both featuring hand-painted floral arrangements and butterfly motifs in a palette of blue, pink, and white. The circular vessel is in the style of Chinese black enamelware with a gilded rim. Several white and orange auction identification stickers are adhered to the surfaces. No signatures, maker’s marks, or factory stamps are visible.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in good overall condition with signs of light use and age. Minor surface scuffing and small scratches are visible on the lacquer and wood finishes. There is slight wear to the gilded edges. Several adhesive labels and residue from previous cataloguing are present. The cantilever mechanism on the wooden box is functional.
