Lot 50: Middle Eastern Copper and Brass Dallah Coffee Pot
A traditional Middle Eastern coffee pot, known as a dallah, featuring a hand-wrought copper body and cast brass components. The vessel is designed with a characteristic lobed or fluted pear-shaped body and a long, curved beak-style spout. The hinged lid is topped with a tall, pointed cast brass finial and is attached to the body via a curved brass handle with riveted joins. Decorative elements include simple incised or chased geometric patterns around the neck and lid, including repeating crescent and eye-like motifs. A white and orange auction lot sticker numbered 14 and 50 is adhered to the lid.
Condition report:
The item displays an aged appearance with a heavy overall patina throughout. There is significant verdigris oxidation present on the spout, lid, and handle assembly. The copper body shows darkening and surface wear consistent with age and previous use. Adhesive lot stickers are present on the lid.
