Lot 813: Two Chinese Archaistic Carved Jade Items
This lot comprises two items fashioned from a dark, mottled green-black stone, likely nephrite jade. The first item is a carved pendant of flattened, circular form with a central aperture. The piece is decorated in the archaistic style, featuring hand-carved and incised scrollwork with stylised zoomorphic features. It is pierced with a small suspension hole and exhibits areas of pale, buff-coloured accretion. The second item is a plain, polished jade bangle of circular section. Both items display natural variegated mottling and internal inclusions and are likely of 19th or 20th-century manufacture.
