Lot 510: Bush TR82 Portable Transistor Radio
A vintage Bush TR82 portable transistor radio, produced circa 1960. The unit features a cream-coloured moulded plastic cabinet accented with a brown textured side panel and a matching cream plastic and metal-rimmed carrying handle. The front grille is detailed with four individual raised silver-toned letters arranged vertically identifying the maker as BUSH. It incorporates a large, circular, two-tone tuning dial protected by a clear cover, which lists classic British radio stations such as the Light Programme, Home Service, and Third Programme. The side control panel includes a thumbwheel for off-on tone control, two push buttons for selecting Long Wave and Medium Wave bands, and a thumbwheel for volume. This is a transistorised model.
Condition report:
The cabinet is in fair vintage condition, showing visible surface grime, light scuffing, and minor abrasions throughout. There are two adhesive stickers present on the top of the handle. The tuning dial and clear cover appear well-preserved. The operational status and internal condition have not been tested.
