A Chinese polychrome porcelain figure depicting Shoulao, the Taoist deity of longevity. The immortal is modelled in a standing pose, featuring the characteristic high domed cranium and a long, flowing white beard. He holds a tall, gnarled staff in his right hand and a large pink-blushed peach in his left, both traditional symbols of long life. The robes are decorated with overglaze enamels on a pale yellow ground, featuring scrolling clouds and scattered peaches. A large blue and white shou character medallion is positioned centrally on the chest. The sleeves and hem are finished with orange-red borders and wave-patterned trim. The figure stands upon an integrated base glazed in a dark brown to black tone, mimicking a rocky outcrop. No marks are visible to the exterior.
Condition report:
The figure appears to be in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear to the overglaze enamels consistent with age. No significant chips, cracks, or signs of professional restoration are visible from the primary angle. An orange auction lot sticker numbered 253 is affixed to the base.
