Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A gilt metal and amber glass vanity stand, designed in the Rococo Revival style and likely intended to hold a perfume bottle or similar vanity accessory. The piece features an ornate, scrolled foliate frame supporting a circular amber glass aperture. This structure is mounted upon a shallow, triangular amber glass tray which exhibits an etched floral pattern to the underside. The glass is held within a matching cast metal border resting on three acanthus-style scroll feet. The metalwork is finished with a gold-toned gilding. While the design is characteristic of mid-20th-century vanity items produced by companies such as Matson or I and M Novelty Manufacturing Company, no maker’s marks, signatures, or hallmarks are visible. An orange adhesive label inscribed with the digits 228 is present on the frame.

Condition report:

The item is in good overall condition. There is light surface oxidation and minor wear to the gilded finish consistent with age and use. The amber glass components appear intact with no significant chips or cracks observed. An orange adhesive label is present on the frame.
