Lot 208: Peter Scott, Taking to Wing, Vintage Framed Colour Print
A vintage colour offset lithograph after an original 1934 painting by Peter Scott (British, 1909-1989), titled Taking to Wing. The image depicts a flock of ducks taking flight from a marshland with tall reeds and a narrow channel of water under a cloudy sky. The print features a plate-printed signature and date PETER SCOTT 1934 in the upper right-hand corner. The right-hand margin is printed with the title TAKING TO WING followed by AFTER THE PAINTING BY PETER SCOTT. The work is presented behind glass with a white mount and an oak-effect wooden frame.
Condition report:
The paper exhibits light, even toning consistent with age. Two small adhesive auction lot labels are attached to the glass, which also shows some camera reflections. The frame shows minor surface wear and scuffs to the edges.
