Lot 209: John S. Gibb, A Pair of Framed Monochrome Railway Prints
A pair of framed monochrome prints after original pencil drawings by the British railway artist John S. Gibb. The first print is titled in the lower margin as Grange over Sands – Arrival and depicts a steam locomotive entering the station platforms. The second print shows a detailed, dynamic close-up perspective of a locomotive’s running gear and boiler enveloped in steam. Both prints feature the printed signature of the artist, John S. Gibb, in the lower right-hand corner. The works are high-quality reproductions, likely fine-art lithographs, as no intaglio plate marks are visible. Each is presented in a dark wood frame with a wide cream-coloured mount and glazed. Both frames are marked with a small white label numbered 55 and an orange lot sticker numbered 209.
