A trio of hand-carved wooden items comprising one rectangular lidded box and two matching open-topped containers, produced in the Anglo-Indian style. The rectangular box is decorated with dense floral and foliate relief carving across all exterior surfaces, featuring a central circular medallion on the lid. The two matching containers feature a ribbed or fluted exterior on three sides and a smooth, recessed oval panel on the fourth face, surrounded by a border of carved flowers and vines. The items are crafted from a dark-stained hardwood, such as sheesham or walnut. Each piece exhibits deep, hand-worked carving. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible; adhesive auction labels are present on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The items are in good condition with minor surface wear and light scuffs consistent with age and use. There is a build-up of dust within the recesses of the carved decoration. The pieces appear structurally sound with no visible cracks or repairs.
