Lot 122: Late Victorian or Early 20th Century Ceramic Pedestal Compote with Cornucopia Decoration
A ceramic pedestal compote featuring a shallow bowl with a scalloped rim, supported by a short pedestal on a matching scalloped foot. The piece is constructed from earthenware with a cream-coloured glaze. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with a central cornucopia motif filled with a bouquet of pink, blue, and yellow flowers. This central image is flanked by delicate scrolling foliate patterns in a light brown tone. The foot of the compote is further embellished with small floral sprays. Both the rim of the bowl and the edge of the base are finished with a broad band of tan-coloured glaze. No factory or maker marks are visible on the exterior of the piece. Two contemporary auction inventory stickers are present on the side.
Condition report:
The item appears to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is minor surface wear and some rubbing to the decorative bands consistent with the item\'s age and use.
