Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two decorative brass items crafted in the Middle Eastern or North African style, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The first item is a shallow circular brass dish featuring a scalloped rim and intricate hand-etched decoration. The central medallion displays a foliate starburst pattern, encircled by concentric bands of scrolling floral motifs. The second item is a large, tapered brass component, likely part of a hanging lantern or incense burner. This piece is constructed with elaborate pierced openwork in a style resembling mashrabiya, depicting stylized floral and foliate patterns. The form tapers to a ribbed conical finial. Neither item displays visible maker marks or hallmarks.

Condition report:

Both items are in good vintage condition. The scalloped dish shows light surface oxidation and a mild patina consistent with age; an adhesive dealer sticker is present on the interior surface. The pierced lantern component exhibits a deeper aged patina with areas of surface tarnish and oxidation. The openwork structure remains sound with only minor surface wear.
