Lot 605: A Collection of UK Cupro-Nickel Half Crown Coins, 1947-1966
A collection of United Kingdom cupro-nickel half crown coins spanning the reigns of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse of each coin features the crowned shield of the Royal Arms with inscriptions including FID DEF and HALF CROWN. Earlier examples dated 1947 and 1948 include the IND IMP title, which was removed from the coinage after 1948. Visible dates within the collection include 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1963, 1965, and 1966. The coins exhibit reeded edges and are presented in a vintage cardboard box.
Condition report:
Circulated condition. The coins show varying degrees of surface wear, contact marks, and light natural toning consistent with period use and storage in a loose group.
