Lot 478: A Pair of White Enamelled Adjustable Swing-Arm Desk Lamps in the Anglepoise Style
A pair of adjustable, spring-balanced desk lamps in the classic Anglepoise style. Each lamp is constructed from metal with a white enamelled finish. The design features a multi-jointed, spring-tensioned articulating arm supported by a circular weighted base. The shades are of matching conical form. Both lamps are fitted with white plastic-coated power cables terminating in standard UK three-pin plugs. There is a small silver-toned rectangular label on the base of one lamp, though the text is not clearly legible. Orange circular stickers numbered 478 are applied to the bases.
Condition report:
The lamps are in used condition with visible surface wear, scuffs, and dirt. There is a noticeable difference in colour between the two bases, with one exhibiting significant yellowing or discolouration. Mechanical joints and tension springs appear functional. All electrical items are sold as untested and require inspection and PAT testing by a qualified professional prior to use.
