Lot 462: A Vintage Wicker and Wood Handbag containing an Assortment of Fabric Belts
A vintage wicker and wood lidded handbag of upright rectangular form. The basket is constructed with a solid wood base and a hinged wooden lid, featuring woven wicker sides and a sturdy woven wicker handle. The handle is secured to the body with metal hardware. The interior contains an assortment of fabric belts, including a cream-coloured fabric belt featuring an orange and green crisscross geometric pattern and a woven fabric belt with blue, black, and white horizontal stripes. Further dark-toned belt material is present at the base of the basket. The wooden lid bears a white sticker with the numeral 19 and an orange retail price tag. No manufacturer or designer marks are visible.
Condition report:
The items are in vintage, used condition. The basket shows surface wear, scuffs, and minor abrasions to the wooden components and wicker, consistent with age and use. The fabric belts appear to be in good used condition.
