Lot 339: A Collection of an Art Deco Style Frameless Mirror and Wooden Display Items
This lot comprises a collection of items including a mid-20th century Art Deco style frameless wall mirror and several wooden storage and display pieces. The mirror is of shaped form with a triple-stepped arched top and is secured at the base by chrome-finished metal clips. The collection of wooden items includes a bamboo-effect display case with a glass hinged lid, six internal compartments, and a decorative metal swing latch. Also included is a light-toned wooden shadow box or display case with a glass hinged lid and nine internal compartments, a dark-stained wooden multi-compartment tray featuring brass-toned diamond-shaped inlays on the side, a rectangular light oak photo frame, a black-finished metal jewellery display stand, and a shallow wooden tray with vertical dividers. Multiple items bear orange adhesive stickers with the number 339. No maker marks or signatures were identified on the pieces.
Condition report:
The mirror plate appears to be in overall good condition, showing light surface marks and minor oxidation or ghosting at the extreme edges consistent with age. No significant foxing or large areas of silvering loss are observed. The wooden and display items show minor surface wear, dust, and light scratching consistent with use. Hinges and latches on the boxes appear functional.
