Lot 340: A Vintage Jay-Nay Wooden Paper Guillotine
A vintage guillotine-style paper cutter produced by the British manufacturer Jay-Nay. The item features a polished rectangular wooden base and a steel cutting arm. The arm is fitted with a turned wooden handle and a metal ferrule. A metal guide ruler is attached to the left side of the board, graduated in inches. In the centre of the board is an applied metal maker’s mark in the form of a ship’s wheel containing the name JAY-NAY. An orange sticker with the handwritten number 340 is present on the surface.

Board dimensions: 23 cm x 24 cm (approximate).
Condition report:
The item is in used vintage condition. The wooden board shows surface scratches and wear consistent with age. Metal components, including the blade arm and ruler, exhibit heavy oxidation and surface pitting. The wooden handle remains secure. Blade sharpness and functionality have not been tested.
