Lot 333: A The Leonardo Collection Laurel and Hardy Woodworking Figurine Group
This hand-painted cast resin figurine group depicts the comedic duo Laurel and Hardy in a carpentry-themed scene. Oliver Hardy is depicted on the left, seated and holding a length of timber. He is dressed in a black bowler hat, white shirt, black waistcoat, and red bow tie. Stan Laurel is positioned on the right, kneeling on a sawhorse while using a hand saw on the timber. He is wearing a bowler hat, white shirt, and blue bib-and-brace overalls. Both characters feature intentional grimy or distressed detailing on their faces and clothing as part of the hand-painted design. The figures are mounted on a single rectangular base with a textured wood-grain finish. A gold-coloured circular tag is suspended from the figure of Hardy, inscribed with the text Design Created in England above a crest and the words The Leonardo Collection. Two auction lot labels are present on the front of the base.
Condition report:
The figurine appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The distressed markings on the faces and clothing are original to the manufacture. The manufacturer\'s tag remains attached.
