Lot 334: A Vintage Brass Counter Service Bell with Concentric Ring Detailing
A vintage cast brass counter or service bell of traditional domed form. The bell features turned concentric ring detailing to both the dome and the tiered circular base. It is fitted with a spring-loaded plunger mechanism and a flat brass button. The construction consists of cast and turned brass components. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The brass surface exhibits a natural aged patina with visible areas of tarnishing and small patches of green verdigris oxidation, particularly around the base and lower dome. Minor surface scratches and signs of regular wear are present throughout, consistent with age and functional use. An orange auction lot sticker (number 334) is adhered to the dome.
