Lot 247: A Collection of Hornsea Pottery Fleur Pattern Tableware
This collection of Hornsea Pottery stoneware is decorated in the Fleur pattern, designed by Sara Vardy and introduced in the early 1970s. The pattern features embossed, stylized floral and foliate motifs in a muted olive green colour on a cream ground. The assortment includes a tall coffee pot, a teapot, a lidded canister with a wooden lid, teacups, saucers, side plates, and dinner plates, presented within a rectangular wicker basket. The bases of the ceramic items feature a blue printed backstamp with a stylized logo above the text HORNSEA, ENGLAND, and FLEUR between decorative dots.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good vintage condition. No major chips or cracks are visible. There is some minor surface wear and light crazing consistent with age and use. Adhesive identification stickers are present on several pieces. The wicker basket shows minor wear to the weave and wooden handles.
