Lot 193: A glazed porcelain figurine of a young woman in the style of Royal Doulton
A glazed porcelain figurine of a young woman in a wind-swept pose, modelled in the style of mid-20th century English bone china manufacturers such as Royal Doulton. The figure is depicted wearing a voluminous, tiered gown in shades of blue with pink ruffled trim to the bodice, sleeves, and hem. She is portrayed with her hands on her hips and her head tilted, with brown hair styled in waves. The form and colour palette are consistent with the Royal Doulton model Sweeting, HN1938. No manufacturer marks or model numbers are visible to the base of the figure. A temporary two-part auction sticker is adhered to the side of the base with the digits 17 and 193.
Condition report:
The figurine exhibits significant and widespread fine crazing to the glaze throughout, which is particularly prominent on the darker blue areas of the gown. No chips, cracks, or signs of professional restoration are visible.
