Lot 189: A Glazed Ceramic Horse Figurine in the Style of Beswick, Dapple Grey Hunter
A glazed ceramic figurine of a horse, produced in the style of mid-20th-century British animalier pottery and resembling the Beswick Hunter model 1734. The horse is depicted in a standing pose with the head turned to the side. It features a plaited mane, characteristic of a horse prepared for showing, and a docked tail. The coat is finished in a shaded dapple grey glaze with black points on the muzzle, ears, and lower legs, and white markings on the face and above the hooves. The entire piece has a high-gloss finish. No manufacturer marks or backstamps are visible on the exterior surfaces. A small orange inventory label is present on the offside hind leg.
Condition report:
The figurine appears to be in good overall condition. No visible chips, cracks, or restoration were noted on the body, ears, or hooves upon inspection. There is a small adhesive sticker attached to the hind leg.
