A whimsical studio pottery ceramic figurine depicting a winged female figure, possibly representing a mythological deity. The figure is modelled with arms raised above its head, supporting a curved element. The stylised face features two inset blue glass or ceramic eyes. The design incorporates zoomorphic features, including a bird head resting on the figure’s shoulder and a second moulded face positioned at the base of the neck. The piece is decorated with vibrant polychrome glazes in shades of yellow, orange, and purple, embellished with gold lustre dot detailing. It stands on a white-glazed rectangular plinth base accented with four raised orange circular bosses. No maker’s marks or artist signatures are visible. Two contemporary adhesive inventory labels are present: a white rectangular sticker numbered 17 17 on the central column and an orange sticker numbered 184 on the base.
Condition report:
There is a visible chip to the pointed tip of the lower wing-like element on the right side. The figurine exhibits fine all-over surface crazing consistent with the type of glaze and age. No other significant repairs or losses are apparent from visual inspection.
