Lot 115: A Royal Doulton Pretty Ladies Figure of the Year 2006 Mary HN 4802
A Royal Doulton bone china figurine titled Mary, designated as the Figure of the Year 2006 from the Pretty Ladies collection. This hand-decorated figure is depicted in a full-skirted pose, wearing a vibrant royal blue gown with a pink-lined hem. She wears a wide-brimmed cream hat embellished with pink flowers and a yellow necklace.
The underside of the base features a printed Royal Doulton backstamp including a lion over a crown emblem. Inscribed text reads: MADE AND HAND DECORATED, BONE CHINA, ROYAL DOULTON, PRETTY LADIES, FIGURE OF THE YEAR 2006, Mary, DESIGNED IN ENGLAND, and HN 4802. It also carries a copyright date of 2005 and a small portrait mark. A hand-painted blue decorator’s mark is present on the foot rim. An adhesive barcode label is attached to the base, indicating the model name MARY, model number 18403, and stating Made in Thailand. The figurine retains a grey card hang tag printed with ROYAL DOULTON PETITES.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or evidence of restoration. There is some minor surface soiling and shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim. An orange price sticker is adhered to the blue skirt.
