This assortment of decorative household items features a variety of ceramic vessels and a glass mug. Included in the group is a figural pitcher in glazed earthenware, designed with a fox head forming the upper rim and spout, decorated with naturalistic tones and a moulded green foliate branch. There are two hexagonal teapots: one of fine earthenware or ironstone decorated with polychrome floral sprays and a relief-molded trellis pattern, and another in porcelain with floral motifs and an arched, patinated metal swing handle. A rounded porcelain teapot is finished in underglaze blue with a repeating honeycomb geometric pattern and a bamboo-style swing handle. The collection also contains a novelty teapot modelled in the form of a traditional flat iron with a cream glaze and a bamboo handle. Completing the lot is a cylindrical red glass mug with a D-shaped handle, which is marked Paladone to the base.
Condition report:
The figural fox pitcher has a small glaze nick to the tip of the left ear. The floral hexagonal teapot and the blue and white geometric teapot appear in good condition. The teapot with the metal swing handle shows light surface wear to the metal consistent with age. The flat iron form novelty teapot exhibits heavy surface crazing throughout the glaze. The red glass mug is in good condition.
