Lot 517A: A Trio of Contemporary Black Painted Nesting Side Tables with Floral Decoration
A set of three nesting side tables constructed from painted wood. Each table features a rectangular top supported by four straight, square-section legs. The two smaller tables include side stretchers for additional reinforcement. The largest table is decorated with a floral motif in one corner, depicting pink and red roses with green foliage against a black painted ground. The set is designed in a contemporary distressed style, with the black finish intentionally worn to reveal the wood beneath. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The tables are in a heavily distressed condition. There is significant chipping, scratching, and loss to the black painted finish, particularly concentrated along the edges of the table tops and the lower sections of the legs. An orange adhesive inventory tag is present on the top surface of the largest table. The wear appears to be a combination of intentional stylistic distressing and subsequent use-related damage.
