Lot 338: Hans Heysen, South Australian Pastoral, Colour Reproduction Print
This colour reproduction print is after an original watercolour by Hans Heysen, depicting a classic Australian pastoral landscape featuring prominent eucalyptus trees in the foreground with a flock of sheep grazing in their shade. The print was published by The Legend Press Pty. Ltd., Sydney. Marginal inscriptions include COPYRIGHT THE LEGEND PRESS PTY. LTD., SYDNEY at the top left, the title South Australian Pastoral at the top centre, and HANS HEYSEN (AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL OF PAINTING) at the top right. A facsimile signature for Hans Heysen is printed within the image at the lower right. The work is presented in a dark wood frame with a gilded inner fillet and a cream-coloured mount under glass. No edition number or hand signature is present.
Condition report:
The print appears to be in good condition with no visible signs of foxing, toning, or fading. The frame and mount are in good condition, although an auction sticker is present on the exterior of the glass.
