Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A miniature desk or boudoir clock of Continental origin, likely Swiss or Austrian, dating to the early 20th century. The case is constructed from gilt-metal with a shaped, scrolled frame and acanthus leaf-style feet. The front is decorated with translucent plum-coloured guilloché enamel, featuring hand-painted floral rose motifs at each corner. The circular gold-tone dial has a machine-turned guilloché centre, black Arabic numerals, and a rail-track minute ring. It is fitted with blued-steel or black hands. The movement is enclosed within the case and has not been inspected. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the dial or the front of the case.

Condition report:

The enamel shows significant damage, including a large area of loss and associated cracking to the right-hand side of the dial. Fine crazing is visible across the remaining enamel surface. There is minor wear to the gilt-metal finish. The movement is untested and the working status is unknown.
