Lot 433: A late 20th-century rust velvet upholstered storage ottoman with fringed border
An upholstered storage ottoman or footstool of rectangular form, dating to the late 20th century. The piece is finished in a rust-coloured velvet or velour fabric with a deep-buttoned tufted lid. It features internal storage capacity, with the lid attached by a full-length metal piano hinge. The lower edge of the body is decorated with a continuous matching fringe border. The design reflects a Victorian-revival style common in mid-to-late 20th-century furniture. No manufacturer’s labels or stamps are visible. Present markings include an orange adhesive label with the numbers 4, 3, 3, a small white label with 5, 5, and a white string tag with the handwritten number 1, 8.

The item is in good structural condition. There is minor surface wear and light pilling to the fabric consistent with age and use.
