Lot 267: A Collection of Art Glass Paperweights
A collection of art glass paperweights of spherical form, each featuring internal lampworked inclusions encased in clear glass. The collection includes a marine-themed example with blue and white fish swimming above a deep blue ground with a controlled bubble (bullicante) effect. Other examples include a paperweight containing a white lace-like floral inclusion with a central air bubble, an example featuring a cobalt blue anemone-style spray inclusion topped with a red and yellow butterfly-like figure, and a paperweight containing a green and white flower inclusion positioned above white pebble-like forms. These items are in the style of mid-20th-century decorative glass makers such as Murano or Caithness. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible. Each item bears an orange adhesive lot sticker numbered 267.
