A lot comprising two decorative items featuring fox subjects, including a Frederick Warne and Co wall plaque possibly from a series by the Bradford Exchange. The first item is an oval bas-relief wall plaque depicting the anthropomorphic character Mr Tod from the Beatrix Potter stories. The fox is depicted in a rural landscape with stone walling and foxgloves, dressed in a green frock coat, pink waistcoat, and breeches, carrying a walking stick. The plaque is constructed from a cold-cast resin or similar composite material with a matte, hand-painted finish. It is incised on the right-hand inner edge with the copyright mark © F W and Co 80, for Frederick Warne and Co, dated 1980. The second item is a miniature naturalistic study of a seated fox, made of glazed ceramic. No maker’s marks are visible on the body of the figurine.
