Lot 187: Character Games The Simpsons 3-D Chess Game
A 3-D Chess Game based on the animated series The Simpsons, manufactured by Character Games (United Kingdom). The set is housed in its original illustrated cardboard box featuring character artwork of the Simpson family and Krusty the Clown. The chess pieces are constructed from moulded and painted plastic. Visible figures through the box aperture include two versions of Homer Simpson as King (one with a gold-coloured crown and one with a silver-coloured crown), Marge Simpson as Queen, and Krusty the Clown. The set includes a black textured folding chess board. The box bears the printed signature of creator Matt Groening in the lower right corner along with the official series logo.
Condition report:
The original retail box exhibits light shelf wear, including minor blunting to the corners and noticeable yellowing or discolouration to the white background areas. Two adhesive labels are present on the front surface: an orange price sticker marked 187 and a small white label marked 63. The visible plastic figures appear to have intact original paintwork. The item has not been removed from the packaging; therefore, the full complement of pieces and the condition of the internal board have not been verified.
