Lot 186: An Assortment of Vintage British Tools and Collectibles Including Woodworking Implements and Advertising Ephemera
A collection of vintage tools and household collectibles of British origin. The lot includes a wooden mortise gauge constructed from dark hardwood with an adjustable fence and brass fittings. Metal tools comprise a pair of iron pincers, open-loop metal snips, and a metal hand sanding block bearing a red label marked HANDYSANDER. Measuring equipment includes a coiled tape marked WELLINGTON. A tool with a red wooden handle features a gold-coloured label marked STADEX. The lot also contains several folding pocket knives, including one with cream-coloured scales and another with a dark handle. Collectible items include a rectangular red and gold lithographed tin for Spinet Super Virginia Cigarettes, marked The Spinet House, Estd. 1775, London. Also present is a cylindrical brass-coloured metal container or weight marked £10 FIFTY PENNY on the top face. Additional items include a thick leather strap with white stitching and various small metal components.
