Lot 140: A Trio of British Relief-Moulded Ceramics including Carlton Ware and SylvaC
A trio of mid-20th-century British glazed earthenware ceramics. The collection includes a leaf-shaped basket with a twisted overhead handle, featuring hand-painted relief floral decoration in purple and yellow on a pale lime-green ground; this piece is attributed to Carlton Ware in the Primula pattern, a design frequently associated with the factory’s Australian Design range. The lot also contains a small jug with a matching leaf-shaped saucer, both featuring relief-moulded foliate designs in a monochromatic green glaze, attributed to SylvaC. While no manufacturer marks are visible on the bases from the provided angle, the items are accompanied by a handwritten auction tag attributing them to these Staffordshire potteries. Each piece is marked with a temporary orange lot sticker numbered 140.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition. Fine age-related crazing is visible on the interior of the pale green basket. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible from the overhead perspective.
