A group of Asian decorative objects comprising Japanese Satsuma style porcelain and Chinese carved soapstone. The ceramic components include a koro (censer) with a domed lid and a flared cup, both decorated in the Satsuma style with polychrome enamels and extensive gilding. The decoration depicts various figures, including Arhats or Immortals, in the Meiji style. The stone collection consists of multiple soapstone carvings in shades of cream, pale green, and mottled brown. These include a standing figure on a circular pedestal, a small elephant figure with an associated vessel, a shallow oval dish with pierced openwork floral decoration, and a bulbous vessel with relief-carved foliage. No legible characters, symbols, or shapes are visible on the bases of the standing stone figure or the relief-carved vessel. The items bear various orange and white auction lot stickers.
Condition report:
The general condition is consistent with age. There is visible surface wear and minor scuffs to the soapstone pieces. The porcelain shows some wear to the gilding and enamels.
