March sale
Lot 2:
A pair of shallow circular copper pans or gratin dishes of traditional European culinary style. Each vessel is formed from sheet copper and features a rolled rim. The pans are equipped with twin cast brass handles with a ribbed or turned design, each secured to the body by three copper rivets. The interiors are unlined and show significant darkening. No legible maker marks or stamps are visible on the interior or exterior surfaces.
Both pans show a warm aged copper patina with surface scratches, scuffs, and minor indentations consistent with domestic use. There is evidence of darkening and minor oxidation or verdigris around the handle joins. The interiors show significant darkening and wear.
