Lot 414: A Weathered Cast Stone Garden Pedestal
A weathered cast stone garden pedestal or plinth of circular form. The piece features a flat circular top and a corresponding stepped circular base, connected by a central cylindrical column. The construction is of cast stone with a coarse, granular texture. There are no visible maker marks, stamps, or inscriptions. A small orange adhesive label is fixed to the edge of the top surface.
Condition report:
The pedestal exhibits significant natural patination and weathering consistent with prolonged outdoor exposure. This includes widespread lichen growth and moss-like green staining, particularly concentrated on the central shaft. The surfaces show general environmental discolouration and wear throughout.
