Lot 639: A Pair of Great Britain Queen Victoria Silver Crowns, 1890 and 1899
A pair of British silver crown coins. The first coin, dated 1890, features the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria on the obverse with the inscription VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D:. The second coin, dated 1899, depicts the Veiled Head or Old Head portrait with the inscription VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. Both coins feature the reverse design of St. George and the Dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci, with the dates 1890 and 1899 respectively in the exergue. The coins are struck in sterling silver.
