Lot 571: A 9 Carat Gold Cameo Locket Pendant Weight: 4.66 grams.
This oval locket pendant is crafted from a gold-toned metal and features a central shell-style cameo. The cameo depicts the right-facing profile of a woman with an ornate hairstyle, set against a reddish-brown ground. It is secured within a smooth inner bezel and surrounded by a decorative border of repoussé scalloped and beaded motifs. The reverse of the locket is plain with a polished finish. The pendant is equipped with a hinged opening on the side and a tapered bail at the top for suspension. An adhesive white paper tag is present on the storage bag reading 9k, indicating a purity of 9 carat gold. A small stamp is visible on the jump ring connecting the bail to the locket, consisting of a rectangular frame containing three distinct symbols; however, these characters are not clearly legible and cannot be transcribed.

The metal surfaces exhibit overall fine surface scratching and scuffing, which is most prominent on the polished reverse (photo 2). The cameo appears intact with no visible chips or cracks to the carved surface (photo 1). The hinge and bail show signs of light wear consistent with use.
