The ticket is printed in black ink on a textured off-white and pale purple ground. The main body of the ticket is headed GOODISON PARK LIVERPOOL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 1966 Jules Rimet Cup QUARTER FINAL and features a central graphic of the Jules Rimet trophy within a globe. Official details include the printed signature of D. Follows, noted as SECRETARY THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. The match date is specified as SATURDAY JULY 23 with a KICK-OFF 3.0 P.M. The seating information is printed as PADDOCK BULLENS ROAD and the price is marked as 15/- (fifteen shillings). The ticket retains its original counterfoil on the left-hand side, which repeats the match details, seat location, price, and the serial number 4524. The counterfoil includes the instruction TO BE GIVEN UP, while the main body states TO BE RETAINED. The reverse, though not fully visible, is noted to contain a plan and conditions. This ticket corresponds to the historic match between Portugal and North Korea, notable for Eusébio scoring four goals in Portugal’s 5-3 victory.
Condition report:
The ticket is in good vintage condition and remains complete with the counterfoil still attached (photo 1). A prominent vertical crease is visible running through the centre of the main ticket section, and a lighter vertical crease is present where the counterfoil meets the main body (photo 1). There is minor wear to the edges and light corner creasing, particularly at the bottom right and top left of the counterfoil (photo 1). The paper exhibits light toning and minor surface marking consistent with its age. Three small, neat rectangular punch holes are present on the left edge of the main ticket body (photo 1).
