Lot 484: Tiffany Style Stained Glass Tulip Pattern Dome Lamp Shade
A leaded glass lamp shade in the Tiffany style, featuring a dome-shaped form. The construction consists of numerous individual pieces of slag and cathedral glass joined with lead cames. The decorative scheme is composed of a repeating floral motif around the lower two-thirds, depicting red tulips and green foliage against a lighter green background. The upper section is composed of rectangular cream-coloured slag glass panels arranged in a radiating geometric pattern towards the apex. The shade is capped with a dark-toned metal heat cap featuring a circular vented aperture for a lamp fitting. The lower rim follows an irregular, scalloped edge defined by the botanical glass segments. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the shade.
Condition report:
The shade is in fair condition. There are several visible hairline cracks to the glass panels, most notably affecting multiple green leaf sections in the lower-left and lower-centre areas (photo 1). The lead cames show signs of oxidation and surface dulling consistent with age. No missing glass sections are apparent.
