A black component hi-fi system by Technics, presented on a mid-century style wooden stand. The system consists of four stacked units and a pair of matching speakers. The topmost unit is a DC servo automatic turntable system, model SL-J110R, featuring a clear plastic lid and linear tracking tonearm. Below the turntable is a quartz synthesizer LW/MW/FM stereo tuner, model ST-K50L, with a vacuum fluorescent display. The third component is a stereo integrated amplifier, model SU-X101, featuring “new class A” circuitry and a digital display. The base unit is a stereo double cassette deck, model RS-X101.
The components are housed in black plastic and metal casings. Each unit bears a printed silver-tone “Technics” logo on the lower left corner. The matching speakers are finished in black wood-grain textured laminate with black cloth grilles; the right-hand speaker bears a small rectangular “Technics” badge. The system is housed on a wooden stand with a teak-effect laminate finish, featuring vertical slat vents on the side panels and tapering square legs. A white plastic UK 3-pin power plug is visible, along with associated black wiring. An orange adhesive price sticker is present on the turntable lid.
Condition report:
The system is in heavily soiled condition with a significant accumulation of dust and surface grime across all components and the stand (photo 1). The clear plastic turntable lid exhibits multiple surface scuffs and deep scratches (photo 1). The wooden stand shows wear to the edges, including small chips to the laminate finish (photo 1). The wiring is tangled and disorganized. The system is untested and its functional condition is unknown.
