This lot features two table lamps of differing designs, both fitted with cream fabric shades and gold-toned flex wiring. The first item is a figural lamp featuring a bird sculpture, resembling a sparrow, perched upon a textured branch with green leaves and two red berries. The sculpture is mounted on a circular, polished wooden base. A brass-toned curved support arm extends from the base to hold the light fitting. An adhesive white rectangular label on the composite branch section reads A. Belcari, and a small metal plaque fixed to the front of the wooden base also reads A. Belcari. The lamp is topped with a cream fabric bell shade featuring a wavy braided trim and a tassel fringe around the bottom rim.
The second item is a porcelain lamp with a baluster-shaped body mounted on a dark-stained wooden base. The white glazed porcelain is decorated with a floral design including pink blossoms and green foliage. This lamp is paired with a white fabric bell shade with a wavy textured pattern, braided trim, and a long white fringe. Both lamps are equipped with white plastic UK 3-pin plugs. One plug bears embossed text including 13A, 250V, and BS 1363/A.
Condition report:
Both lamps appear to be in good aesthetic condition. The bird figure shows no visible chips or cracks (photo 2). The cream shade on the figural lamp has a slight indentation to the fabric on one side (photo 1). The white fringe on the porcelain lamp shade shows minor disorganisation from handling and storage (photo 1). The porcelain body appears intact with no visible crazing or damage (photo 3). The wooden bases show light surface wear consistent with use. These items are sold as decorative objects only; the wiring has not been tested and must be PAT tested by a qualified electrician before being connected to a mains supply.
