Lot 211: A Pair of Corning Ware Spice of Life Pattern Ceramic Casserole Dishes with Pyrex Glass Lids

Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A pair of square ceramic casserole dishes, manufactured by Corning Ware in the Spice of Life pattern. Each dish is finished in a glossy white glaze and features a decorative transfer-printed band on two opposite sides. The motif, titled Le Romarin as printed in a dark brown script on the side of each dish, depicts a variety of vegetables and herbs including a tomato, mushrooms, peppers, and leafy foliage in shades of red, green, yellow, and earth tones. Each vessel is designed with integrated lug handles at the rim. The dishes are accompanied by clear, tempered glass lids, each featuring a central rounded knob handle and a stepped rim design. One lid bears the raised molded text PYREX along the rim, while the ceramic bodies are marked on the underside; although the underside marks are not directly visible in the photographs, the pattern name Le Romarin is clearly legible on the exterior side wall of the dishes. The items are shown alongside a white paper lot description from Ulverston Auction Mart.

Condition report:

The dishes and lids appear to be in good used condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or significant surface scratches to the ceramic glaze (photo 1). The transfer-printed decorations remain vibrant and intact without visible loss. The clear glass lids show no signs of chips or fractures, and the knob handles are secure (photo 1). Some minor surface wear consistent with light domestic use may be present but is not clearly discernible in the provided images.
