Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of three ceramic teapots of varying forms and decorative styles. The first teapot, positioned on the left, is constructed from fine porcelain or bone china with a mint green ground. It features a globular body, a tapering neck, a curved spout, and a looped handle. The decoration consists of hand-painted floral sprays in yellow, red, and blue, complemented by a pink scale-pattern border at the shoulder and lid rim. The lid is surmounted by a floral bud finial. The second teapot, located in the centre, is an earthenware vessel with a rectangular body and rounded corners. It features a faceted spout and a scroll handle. The exterior is decorated with a blue underglaze transfer print in the Willow pattern, depicting pagodas, bridges, and trees. The third teapot, on the right, is a gadrooned earthenware vessel with a compressed globular body. It features a molded foliate-decorated spout and a large scroll handle. The surface is decorated with a red underglaze transfer print depicting scrolling floral vines and geometric borders. The domed lid is finished with a tiered finial. An orange adhesive price label is attached to the shoulder of the blue and white teapot, and a white circular adhesive label is present on the lid of the red transferware teapot. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on any of the items from the provided angles.

Condition report:

The mint green floral teapot shows visible wear to the gilding on the spout and handle, and there is a small chip on the upper lip of the spout (photo 1). The blue and white transferware teapot exhibits surface crazing throughout the glaze (photo 1). The red transferware teapot appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips or cracks.
